Production Settings
Tune the scheduler's cadence and capacity caps.
What each setting does
  • Preferred install weekday: Which day the scheduler prefers when proposing earliest-feasible / one-week-buffered dates. Default Wed (mid-week leaves Thu/Fri buffer if install runs long).
  • Avoid install weekdays: Days where the scheduler will never propose an install. Default Fri/Sat/Sun (Lee's "no Friday installs" + weekends). If a customer requests one of these, it's allowed but warned.
  • Max concurrent production jobs: Hard WIP cap. New jobs get pushed past dates that would breach this. Default 2.
  • Max installs per day: WIP cap. Default 1 (one install per day until you have a second crew lead).
  • Production buffer: Padding added to every step's lead time (in weeks of 5 business days each). 0 = run on the minimum-feasible cadence. 1 (default) = produce this week for next week's install. Crank up to 2 or 3 as we get further ahead of demand.
  • Default install lead: Used as the worst-case crew assumption when proposing dates. When this changes, the wall-clock math gets sharper.
  • Shop departure / ideal return time: Departure anchors the calendar event start on install day. Ideal return is a soft target -- intake warns if the wall-clock (travel + install + travel) would land you back at the shop later.
  • Daily budget hours per person: How many shop-available hours per weekday by default. Used by capacity reader (Phase 2) when reading from HR calendar.
  • Unlock betas: Phase 3 toggle. Once any category has ≥ 8 closed jobs in history, flip this on to let the model learn slope coefficients (not just intercept). Leave off for now.

Cadence

e.g., charlie -- worst-case-solo crew assumption.

Capacity caps

Wall-clock cap. Above this, intake suggests crew or 2-day split.

Production buffer

Each week = 5 business days added to every step's lead time. Pushes earliest-feasible date out and gives shop a recovery buffer.

Install-day timing

Default install-day calendar event start. Earliest realistic = 7:30.
Soft target -- intake warns if wall-clock pushes past this.

Daily shop-available hours per person

Used by the capacity reader (Phase 2) as the default budget when nothing on the calendar conflicts.
